Prior to founding Vigilant Solutions, Shawn was a key developer of probabilistic risk assessment models used by the U.S. Navy, developed analysis and decision systems for optimization of semiconductor manufacturing lines within Texas Instruments and Motorola, and founded Global Knowledge Systems which was later acquired by Applied Materials where he served as Managing Director.

Dr. Dinh Tien Son

Founder and Chief Scientist

Dr. Son has extensive history in the development of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

Prior to founding Vigilant, Dr. Son founded the Dolsoft Co. Ltd. over 15 years ago and served as Leader of Science where he developed a range of technologies and methods to develop a GIS system. Dr. Son has also served as the leader of the WinGIS Group which developed GIS in both Vietnam and Moscow. Later, at Vigilant Solutions, Dr. Son developed highly accurate methods for optical character recognition and facial recognition. Dr. Son holds both undergraduate and Ph.D. degrees in Math Faculty (Theory of Functions) from the State University of Odessa, one of the most prestigious mathematical universities in the world, where he graduated first in his class. Dr. Son’s stellar reputation has enabled Vigilant to attract the some of the most talented programmers and mathematicians in the world.

Matt Brady

Chief Revenue Officer

Matt is responsible for developing strategies that drive revenue performance and organizational effectiveness to meet its financial goals.

Matt brings over 20 years of experience in the fields of technology and public safety, serving as president and CEO of Westell Technologies, Inc., a global provider of wireless, public safety and cloud/IoT-based monitoring solutions. As CRO, Matt will help Vigilant and DRN continue to achieve profitable growth and expand the companies’ global reach.

Dave Janek

Chief Financial Officer

David brings a wealth of executive financial management and strategic planning experience from his tenures at international, public, and private enterprises.

He has previously held positions as CFO, VP & Corporate Controller, VP & Treasurer and other financial leadership roles at companies such as Federal Signal Corporation and The Heico Companies, LLC. As CFO of Vaas, David will be leading the team to further drive growth and profitability.

Dr. Nagi Palle

Chief Operating Officer

As COO of VaaS, Nagi oversees the operations of both DRN and Vigilant, helping both companies continue to achieve success and growth.

Prior to VaaS, Nagi was the CEO and Managing Director of Machindra First Choice Wheels (MFCW), India’s largest automotive products and services provider. In addition to his time at MFCW, Nagi served as a Senior Vice President at OPENLANE and spent a decade in the management consulting industry.

Susan Crandall

Vice President of Communications and Legislative Affairs

Susan brings over 15 year of business experience in the data and technology field, holding leadership roles in business development, product development, market strategy and marketing.

As the Vice President of Marketing and Legislative Affairs, Susan is responsible for the VaaS global brand, public relations and communications strategy. Additionally, she supports Vigilant Solutions and DRN in their continuing efforts to help customers and partners navigate the legislative landscape to ensure the continued safe and responsible use of data.

Tom Joyce

Vice President of Business Development

Tom is a retired member of the NYPD in the rank of Lieutenant Commander of Detectives.

He commanded the NYPD Cold Case Squad upon his retirement and additionally held many other roles within the detective and organized crime bureaus. Prior to working with Vigilant Solutions, Tom was the Director of Law Enforcement Market Planning for LexisNexis Government Services. Tom often lectures on various subject matters relating to Homicide Investigations and has published numerous articles on criminal investigations. Tom is currently a member of the International Homicide Investigators Association’s Advisory Board.

Mark Kruse

Vice President of Engineering

Mark has over 10 years experience working with high tech software solutions.

Prior to joining Vigilant during its early start-up, Mark was programming large data warehouse integration applications for the semiconductor industry. Mark later transitioned into a customer facing role, managing a team of applications engineers responsible for high availability data aggregation and analysis solutions for Applied Materials. Mark interfaced between the Applied Materials product development team and the world’s leading semiconductor factories in the US, Europe and Asia. Mark has found his passion at Vigilant driving high-tech public safety solutions that save lives.

Brian Shockley

Vice President of Product Management

Brian has 15 years of marketing and product management experience.

Prior to joining Vigilant Solutions, Brian has held senior marketing roles with NDI Recognition Systems, PIPS Technology, and Aldis. Other work experience includes product management and marketing leadership positions with John Deere, Valvoline, and Bullard. Brian’s educational background includes a BS degree from Carson Newman College, an MBA from the University of Tennessee, and Strategic Marketing Management Executive Education from Harvard Business School.

Neil Schlisserman

Vice President of Sales

Neil has more than 25 years of experience in the sales and delivery of software and services to enterprise customers.

Most recently, Neil was a member of the global management team for Memex – a leading provider of intelligence management solutions to law enforcement that was acquired by the SAS Institute in 2010. Neil has held a variety of other executive and management positions at organizations such as Sapient Corporation, Deloitte Consulting and American Management Systems (now CGI) during his career. Neil received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems with High University Honors from Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA.
